As released in the Bureau of Labor Statistics report last month, Georgia’s unemployment rate, seasonally adjusted, stayed steady at 3.0 percent in December. Not seasonally adjusted, the unemployment rate dropped from 2.8 percent in November to 2.7 percent in December.

Locally, according to a newly released Bureau of Labor Statistics report released on February 1, the Columbus metropolitan area unemployment rate (not seasonally adjusted) dropped from 3.5 percent in November to 3.3 percent in December.

Nearly three years after the COVID-19 pandemic drastically impacted local communities across the nation, Georgia continues to show resilience and make great progress towards recovering economic losses.
